Mongolia Expedition

Sitting cross-legged inside the Ger camp, the little child breathes in a big mouth of stuffy air and continues reading his torn book with the dimmed light that is about to blow off.

 

From the time when the Mongolian government started their steps towards modernization, nomadic herders started losing their dominance. They no longer owned flocks of sheep, cattle, and pasturelands. They could hardly keep up with the escalating urban areas, they had to strive hard to earn for livings. Their children - the rural kids, crave for education. But do you want to be the one who is going to provide education to these groups of kids when even the government gave up on them?

 

Rotaract Club, HKUSU is now introducing you our summer international service trip:

Mongolia Expedition - June 2014

 

We are bringing you to Mongolia for a 10-day trip, aiming at looking into their situation, feeling their needs, and giving them some practical help.

Destination: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Fee: HK$7,200 (Air Ticket, Insurance, Accommodation, Local Transportation and Life Experience Package inclusive)

Content

I. Community Service (4-day Voluntary Teaching Programme at Local Orphanage, Visits to Disabilities Centre & Local Hospitals)

 

II. Cultural Exchange (Over-night Life Experience Journey: Tradition Grazing, Horse Riding in National Park, Orientation and Gathering with Local Rotaractors & University Students)

 

III. Sightseeing

Application form is available in hard copy at our counter from 17/03/2014 to 04/04/2014 at Upper Univeristy Street, or in soft copy on our website.

Please note that students must return the completed application form in hard copy to our counter before the deadline. Otherwise, your application will not be accepted.
